We’ll start our trek in the morning after breakfast. Our destination for the day is Chirbasa, located at an altitude of 3600 meters. The trail follows the Bhagirathi River, which can be heard roaring in the distance as we trek. We’ll stop in Chirbasa for a packed lunch before continuing our moderate trek to Bhojwasa.
Once we leave Chirbasa, the terrain quickly becomes barren and desolate. It’s so isolated and barren that many experienced trekkers compare it to the Arctic Tundra. However, don’t let the lack of vegetation fool you. You’ll have plenty of reasons to keep going, including the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including the Bhagirathi group of peaks.
As we trek towards Bhojwasa, we will pass through densely forested areas, eventually coming to a charming temple and a potential campsite near the river. This spot is the perfect place to relax for the evening and admire the stunning sunset on the Bhagirathi group of peaks.

The slippery parts of the glacier need to be tackled with caution, and the rockfall areas on this trail will increase the level of intensity even more.
Once you make the climb of up to 100 meters to reach Nandanvan, you will be rewarded with an incredible meadow, located at the base of Bhagirathi. The clear views of Mt. Shivling, Mt. Meru, and Kedar Dome from Nandanvan will leave you breathless.
